Technical platform for biotechnology, plant pathology and agro-ecology
Platform
The technical platform of biotechnology, plant pathology and agro-ecology includes two platforms called BVEG and ECOS. The ECOS platform for ECOlogie des Sols (Soil Ecology) hosts scientific tools that allow the study of biological properties (such as soil fauna, for example the extraction of earthworms from the soil, smaller soil animals such as mites and springtails, and even nematodes that are even smaller than earthworms), physical properties (such as soil compaction with a suction table, a tool for analyzing structural stability), and chemical properties (such as the content of elements in the soil, for example phosphorus, with a pH meter and a spectrophotometer).
It is complementary to the BVEG plant biology platforms which study the health of plants by studying mainly the interaction between the plant/fungi which attack the plants and chemical or natural products which will protect the plant against the fungi. For this, we have culture chambers (controlling temperature, light, humidity), greenhouses and incubators to produce fungi and bacteria.
It is also complementary to the AGRO platform for agronomy of the establishment.
