Plasticity
Research team - UMR 8207
The Plasticity team applies the concepts, tools and methods of Material Science and Physical Metallurgy to issues related to the dynamics of planetary interiors. The team’s spine focuses on multiscale modelling of plasticity. However, it also develops experiments and innovative characterizations of plasticity, mainly based on electron microscopy in interface with modelling. This approach, which is quite general in the physics of materials, is positioned on the study of the plasticity of the minerals of the mantle.
