Laboratory of multiscale and multiphysics mechanics (LaMcube)
Research unit - UMR 9013
Our research activities focus on highly heterogeneous solid materials in complex structures subjected to extreme conditions. The research is structured around four research axes: i) material fatigue, ii) geomaterial behavior, iii) braking and frictional contacts, iv) soft tissue biomechanics. Our ambition is to create a continuum from the elaboration of materials to the description of systems under stress, taking into account the evolution of materials and structures under these stresses. To achieve this, we develop innovative experimental means representative of the conditions of use and we combine these experiments with original modelling and numerical methods often mixing several physics and several scales. We are open to all academic and industrial collaborations and propose services in line with our expertise.

The inauguration of the CISIT Halle in 2015 allowed us to group together all the multi-axial mechanical and tribological testing equipment. A number of instruments have been developed in-house and are therefore original on a national scale.
