Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN)
Research unit - UMR 8520
The Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN) is a research unit of the University of Lille, CNRS, the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France, Centrale Lille and Junia. Composed of ~450 people, professors, researchers, engineers, technicians, and graduate students, our institute is a leading research center in the field of micro-nano-technologies and their applications in high-speed communications, health technologies, energy, transportation, the Internet of Things and neuromorphic technologies. We possess extensive expertise in material physics and nanostructures, telecommunications circuits and systems, acoustics, photonics, fluidics and biotechnologies, with a focus on micro-nano devices. Two world-class technology platforms support both fundamental and industry-oriented research activities. Twenty-three research teams are working in five departments: Materials, nanostructures and components; Micro/nano/biosystems, waves and micro-fluidics; Micro, nano and optoelectronics; Telecommunications technologies and intelligent systems; Acoustics and integrated systems. We are open to all academic and industrial collaborations and propose services in line with our expertise.
The IEMN is located in Villeneuve d'Ascq, Lille and Valenciennes. The main laboratory building gathers most important technological resources and the common administrative services. The branches located at the Faculty of Technology of Lille and at the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France as well as in the JUNIA building in Lille are also dedicated to research activities.
