Magnetic Resonance Imaging Platform for Small Animals (PIRMPA)
Platform
The platform is mainly dedicated to in vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectrometry (MRS) of small animals, but also of any sample containing hydrogen. It proposes different techniques that allow morphological exploration by the main families of sequences:
• T1 or T2 weighted imaging (longitudinal or transverse relaxation time) or DP (proton density)
• Vessel time of flight (or phase contrast) angiography
• With or without injection of gadolinium chelate contrast agent (tumor)
But also functional exploration:
• Hemodynamic imaging of brain activity
• Microvascular (perfusion)
• Metabolic (1H spectroscopy)
• Tissue microstructure (diffusion, tractography)
• Flow (blood flow and volume)
The platform can support its users in designing their image acquisition protocols, processing and data analysis. In compliance with the regulations of animal transport, the MRI platform is connected to the CURS pet store (PlatanN) which has solutions for housing your animals, in respect of animal welfare.
