Cellular Adiposity and Bone (MABLAB)
Research unit - ULR 4490
Our unit brings together clinical researchers (rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, dental surgeons, radiologists) and non-clinicians (physiologists, cellular and molecular biologists, biochemists, spectrometrists) Their skills converge on the study of the relationships between bones and fatty tissues and their consequences on the pathophysiology of bone diseases. Our scientific project is based on the hypothesis that intra-bone changes play an important role in the pathophysiology of osteoporosis and osteonecrosis. These alterations correspond to a change in the distribution of the different components of bone tissue and involve interactions between osteogenesis and adipogenesis. Based on the clinical skills of the members of the laboratory, three pathologies are specifically studied: osteoporosis, osteonecrosis of the femoral head, osteonecrosis of the maxilla.
